Repeat each cycle
Every person's D, E, N and O sequence is projected from their own cycle-start date.
Shared-time finder for rotating schedules
Enter two to four repeating work cycles. Overlap Days combines the schedules, extends night shifts by a recovery period, and highlights the next full day, evening or useful block of time everyone shares.
Planner
Use D for day, E for evening, N for night and O for off. The cycle repeats from each person's chosen anchor date.
Scope: repeating work patterns only. Public holidays, annual leave, overtime, swaps and one-off changes are not added automatically.
What the result means
A night shift that ends in the morning may still consume much of that day. The recovery setting lets the planner reserve sleep or decompression time after each N shift.
Every person's D, E, N and O sequence is projected from their own cycle-start date.
Work and configured night-recovery intervals are merged into a shared unavailable timeline.
The remaining gaps become full days, shared evenings, daytime windows and total shared hours.
Common questions
The tool is a planning aid. Confirm real rosters before booking travel, childcare or paid events.
Holiday rules vary by country, region, employer and contract. Version 1 deliberately avoids a maintained holiday database. Treat holidays and leave as manual real-world checks.
The shift itself crosses midnight when its end time is earlier than its start time. The configured recovery hours then extend the unavailable period beyond the shift end.
The summary requires at least four common free hours between 6 PM and midnight. The calendar still displays total common hours even when that threshold is not met.
The current setup is stored in local browser storage for convenience. A share link places the same settings in the URL fragment, which is not sent to the web server as part of the page request.
